QUEENS SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL Boer War medals, primarily the Queen's South Africa Medal (QSA) and the King's South Africa Medal (KSA), were awarded to British and colonial military personnel who served in the Second Boer War between 1899 and 1902. The QSA was given for service in the war itself, while the KSA was awarded to those who completed 18 months' service by June 1, 1902, and were in the conflict theatre after January 1, 1902. Clasps were affixed to the QSA to denote specific areas or actions within the war.
